Tarte beMATTEnificent Amazonian colored clay matte collector's palette: Review & Swatches
Tarte absolutely nailed this one. These are the matte shades you wished were in the Naked 3 palette. I will say straight up that I think this palette is best suited to light skin tones but I have seen some medium and dark skin toned girls rocking this palette too.
The palette is encased in gorgeous purple and gold packaging. It's sturdy, good quality, and has a large mirror. There is also a small dual ended brush which I would actually use with powder eyeshadows. There are 6 eyeshadows, 1 blush, and 2 cake eyeliners. You guessed it, they're all matte. I swatched the colours on my skin without primer and only applied one layer. You can see the pigmentation of the eyeshadows is on point and blend beautifully.
The blush Elevated is very similar to Exposed. I think Exposed works better with more skin tones though, as Elevated has the potential to look ashy on the skin. The eyeshadows are very silky. I've made significant dents in Sand Out From the Crowd, Rose to the Occasion, and View from the Taupe already. The shadows are so soft that my brush bristles have made clear indentations in some of the shadows. This is not the kind of palette you need to work at to get pigment on to the brush. I would also recommend tapping the brush off before applying to the eye to avoid fall-out (just because they're so soft). The two cake liners - Dream in Chocolate and Don't Stand Black work wet or dry and I've found best applied with an angled eyeliner brush. I have also used them as eyeshadows but they need a bit more blending work than the other eyeshadows in the palette.
The palette is formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium laurel sulfate and gluten. The skin around my eyes tends to be quite sensitive and I have had absolutely no irritation from using these eyeshadows. The Amazonian Clay must do great things because the wear time for the palette is spectacular. You can count on this palette to last you through a long day at work.
Both myself and The Beauty Vine purchased this limited edition palette from Tarazz. I found their communication to be excellent and shipping time very reasonable. Lou made similar comments regarding shipping time and how the palette was packaged for shipping.
This palette is (unfortunately) limited edition and retails for US$36. Will you be picking it up?
