Michael Todd True Organics - Sensitive Skincare Regimen Review

A few months ago I purchased the Michael Todd True Organics 5 piece sensitive skincare regimen. My skin is mostly dehydrated and sensitive with the occasional blemish. If I do have a blemish it likes to linger below the skins surface but I do often have small blackheads on my nose.

5 piece sensitive skincare regimen

The set cost $69 including shipping to Australia. This was the discounted price as there was a sale on the set at the time. I looked on the website before writing this post and now a 6 piece set is offered including a serum.

Honey and oat gentle deep pore cleanser
This cleanser smells fresh and leaves my skin feeling lovely and clean. I use it with my Clarisonic in the evening and just with my fingers in the morning. It didn't smell how I expected it to - it smells strongly of aloe rather than honey and oat. Annoyingly the product had leaked when I first opened up the package and I continue to find small amounts of product pooled around the base of the packaging. It does foam up a little bit when used with the Clarisonic but not as well as I would have liked. My skin feels refreshed and not too tight after I use it.

Blue green algae antibacterial toner
I think this toner has made my skin a lot clearer, minimised my blackheads and prevented future blemishes. I pour a small amount on a cotton pad and wipe it over my face after cleansing. I find it does sting the centre of my face but the feeling subsides within 10 seconds. In the past my skin has reacted to toners and become very dry and irritated but aside from the stinging feeling I have had no other reactions. You get a lot of product which I think would last a lot longer than the cleanser and moisturiser.

Citrus cream moisturiser with dmae and hyaluronic acid
This moisturiser is lovely and rich and smells strongly of citrus. I use this only in the evenings as I find it too rich to wear under makeup during the day. The hyaluronic acid is great for attracting moisture to the skin and it leaves my skin lovely and glowing. I have a serious gripe with the packaging though. The pump system would rarely dispense any product at all so I had to cut through the packaging and scoop out the product in to another container.

Citrus cream moisturiser faulty packaging

Intensive organic cream eye treatment
I'm only 23 so I use eye creams mostly for prevention than anything else. This product claims to improve fine lines and wrinkles, dark circles, and puffiness. I have terrible dark circles and I find nothing really improves them. I have found this eye cream to slightly improve them but nothing dramatic and probably not significantly enough for anyone else to notice.  I only use this cream at night because I think that I have better eye creams for de-puffing in the morning.

Charcoal detoxifying facial mask
I use this mask once a week and I find that my skin looks so much more plump and healthy after I use it. It applies as a grey colour and works its magic for 10-15 minutes. It has a funny smell but it's not unpleasant.

The verdict?

My favourite products are the toner, moisturiser and face mask. The packaging of the moisturiser and cleanser is really disappointing. Happily Michael Todd True Organics have altered the packaging, their website stating "new packaging - new pump". I don't think I will exclusively use Michael Todd products once these ones have run out but I intend to try out a few more of their products (I have my eye on the avocado and mango mask).

Have you tried anything from Michael Todd True Organics?
